Abnormal Loads at the Dublin Tunnel
Requirements
Any vehicle in excess of 2.90 meters wide and/or in excess of 25.00 meters in length
MAXIMUM VEHICLE HEIGHT OF 4.65 meters APPLIES TO ALL BOOKINGS
A minimum of 48 hours notice is required
How to make a booking
Please be advised that the Abnormal Load Team at the Motorway Operations Control Centre (MOCC) monitor requests and manage bookings by Email Only for the movements of Abnormal Loads from Monday to Friday 06:00hrs â 20:00hrs. For email bookings received at all other times a response and booking confirmation may not be guaranteed.
Booking conditions
Bookings will only be accepted for movement between the hours of 22:00 â 05:00
Bookings must be confirmed by Control Room Staff
Hauliers MUST provide their own escort vehicle/s which in turn will be escorted by a Dublin Tunnel Authorised Officer
On full tunnel closure nights, Southbound (M1/M50 â Port) movements are not permitted. There is limited availability for Northbound (Port â M1/M50) movements. In the case of one lane being closed in either direction, there will be no availability in the affected direction

Please note that there may be occasions where it is necessary to cancel or postpone a booking due to unforeseen circumstances and/or operational reasons. We will endeavour to advise in a prompt manner and appreciate your cooperation should this occur.
Failure to follow abnormal load booking requirements may result in the Authorised Officer/Operator issuing a warning/banning notice to the haulier. Where an authorised abnormal load approaches the tunnel and attempts to gain unlawful entry, offenders WILL be prosecuted.
